Controlling the content of your output
There are a number of additional features that allow you to modify the contents of the returned
If you wish to eliminate hybrids from the results displayed make sure that the No button of the
Hybrids button combination has been selected. The yes option is selected by default.
You can elect to exclude native or alien taxa from your search results. To make sure that only
results from native taxa are displayed make sure that the "Native" option of the Status button
combination is selected. To display only alien taxa make sure that the "Alien" option is selected.
To see the results from taxa regardless of their native status make sure that the "Both" option is
selected. The "Both" option is selected by default.
By default a basic set of information is returned by a query. There is a number of options that
allow you to expand on this basic set. These are:
The tissue on which the count was made.
The grid reference from where the specimen was collected.
The name of the vice county where the specimen was collected.
The locality where the specimen was collected.
The literature reference from where the data was obtained.
To include any of these in the output make sure that the Yes option in the button set associated
with the desired option is selected. By default all the options are set to Yes.
Specifying the sort order of your output
There are four ways in which you can opt to sort the output results, these are:
By Latin name and then chromosome number.
By Latin name and then vice-county number.
By Kent number (systematic order) and then chromosome number.
By Kent number (systematic order) and then vice-county number.
When selecting the sort order you should bear the following in mind - records that do not contain
a value for the specified sort criteria will sort first, these values will be sorted by Latin
