Works by 19th Century British Diatomists This section contains searchable and browsable digital facsimiles of some of Victorian Britain's most important diatom works. We are particularly pleased to be able to make these available for public access, as the source texts are often very difficult to obtain. Diatom size reduction image sets: Each successive generation of a clonaly reproducing diatom is slightly smaller than its forebears. We have constructed series illustrating these reductions in size and changes in shape as important tools for automated recognition studies.
