Sellaphora capitata and Sellaphora auldreekie mating

Sellaphora  from Blackford Pond, Edinburgh: a triplet of Sellaphora auldreekie adjacent to, but not touching, a quadruplet of S. capitata., all in meiosis.  These species are reproductively isolated from each other. Just below the seven sexualized cells is a vegetative cell of S. blackfordensis, which has not been enticed into sex with either of the other two species.
