Scots Pine Pinus sylvestris grows on poor soil with little lime. There are some plants that usually occur in pinewood although many of these also grow on moorland. There are a few that are only found in pinewood. |
Deciduous trees such as oak Quercus species have plants growing underneath that change thoughout the year. Some grow in the spring before there are leaves on the trees and others can grow in deep shade. | |
