Ringed specimen on Hustedt slide 224/75 (Alfred Wegener Institut,
Bremerhaven). This specimen, a single frustule, was selected as the
type of Nitzschia abbreviata
by R. Simonsen (1987) and restudied by Trobajo et al. (submitted).
